This Central London apartment was thoughtfully redesigned to create a modern and spacious home
The tree-lined street overlooking Camden Square Park is a fantastic location for London living. Just a short walk away from tube stations, the famous market, gastropubs, and enticing places to eat and drink, Camden Terrace is a dream location with good sized apartments around. The project we found on this street excited us from the get-go.
For an apartment to feel spacious, it doesn’t matter so much about square footage as it does about design. While this property was large, poor design meant its space wasn’t being used effectively. As is the case with many older properties, we needed to rewire throughout, which would also give us the chance to install new lighting. Overall, the property was tired and in need of modernising — particularly the kitchen and bathroom.
After much thought, we reimagined the flow of the flat. Working with a structural engineer meant we were able to move interior walls to create two double bedrooms, a large living area, and an open plan kitchen and reception room.
The modern chef needs a fully functional kitchen with all the appliances to make cooking and cleaning up after a breeze. Working with our team from RUE Kitchens, we fitted an upgraded, contemporary kitchen with built-in appliances and ample storage space.
Clever storage solutions continued into the bathroom too. With the experts from RUE Bathrooms, we extended the space, installed a shower over the bath, and a large sink with an under-counter cupboard. The boiler was put into a hallway cupboard alongside the washing machine, making a perfect storage space for warm towels and bedding.
The sash windows in this apartment are typical of a terraced London property. Keeping the style was imperative; however, the windows were due an upgrade to keep the property energy efficient. Double glazing did just that.
A thoughtful redesign, space-saving solutions, hotel style lighting, and a new fitted bathroom and kitchen, saw this Central London property become modernised, bright, and spacious.
