Modernising key rooms in this Chalk Farm property to create a bright, welcoming and outstanding London home.
Between Chalk Farm and Kentish Town lies Queens Crescent: a popular street for professionals and families. Close to shops, a bustling market, restaurants, and amenities, this street has the feel of a close-knit community while still having central London at its doorstep. We were excited to be making a property here stand out in the crowd.
A bathroom should be a warm, inviting, and functional place to express personality and relax. The Queens Crescent property was quite the opposite. It was cold and damp, with unusable cupboards and sub-par water pressure. Upstairs, the leaky roof had caused dampness and would need repairing before the room below could be used as a home office.
Upgrading the bathroom to create an intimate, spa-like sanctuary was high on our agenda for this property. Working closely on the design with our RUE Bathrooms service we stripped the room back to a clean slate, removing wall coverings, cupboards, and the suite. We covered the floor with new concrete and damp treatment; installed electric underfloor heating, a modern shower, and new carefully designed MDF wardrobes and – finally – decorated to give a clean finish. Upstairs, our Rue Maintenance team got to work on fixing the leaky roof and replacing the window with French doors. With a view of the flourishing rear garden, the room was to become bright and inspiring – the perfect home office.
The bathroom at Queens Crescent is not only fully functional, it is also a warm and welcoming paradise – as any bathroom should be. The fully fitted wardrobes give the client enough storage to keep clothes, shoes, and accessories tidy so the space maintains the minimalistic feel. Flooded with natural light and overlooking the beautiful garden, the office upstairs is now a desirable work from home location.
